Swap spoiler!!

Well, my daughter and I started cleaning out the garage today preparing for the move, we had a garage sale on Monday, Memorial Day with all the things that we had cleaned out from inside the house. We thought it would be a great day for a sale, but everyone must have had other plans, it was a little slow. So we will try again this Saturday with all the goodies left from the last sale and the new goodies from the garage. I don't think anyone cares about my old craft supplies like I do. Well wish us luck!!

I sent away both of my swaps yesterday so I thought I would share some pictures of what I sent to one of my buddies, I need to make sure my other buddy receives her package before I post pictures. (She comes here to visit and I don't won't to ruin the surprise). The first swap is a Bees. Butterflies and Birdhouse Swap. All items needed to be handmade. First I knitted a blue butterfly wash cloth (I've never tried that before, it was fun knitting from a graph)

I also sent along some bath salts,

then I embroidered a pair of napkins with bees buzzing

and last I made a mini mosaic birdhouse (about 3 inches) on a stick (something everyone
needs, LOL).

Hope Mooki99 enjoys!

Maybe tomorrow I will be able to show the other swap. The first of 2 packages (full of all kinds of goodies) for Lia at the Spring Felted Bag Exchange, the second package is a felted purse and that needs to be shipped by the end of June. Then I have one more swap (embroidered pincushion) and then I done with swaps for awhile.

It was fun to share. Talk to you in a couple of days.

Hello Everybody. I am so glad to be feeling better. Thank you all for wishing me well.

I've got so much to catch up on. I have my swaps that are due and I am moving (did I say moving) and I need to get ready for the holiday shows. I always try to buckle down in June but I have gotten a little carried away with all these swaps, so I am going to have to give swapping a rest until I get my show inventory up.

I was wondering if anyone is going to do a holiday craft shows online and how you would get involved. If anyone knows of something going on please fill me in.

Do you smell lemons?
First I need to answer a question for Spring Felted Bag Exchange:

Easy one:

Go visit some blogs for people who are participating in this swap. Find THREE people that you have something in common with - BESIDES the fact that you knit ;)Make a post linking to those 3 blogs, and tell what it is you have in common with the person on that blog!

Debb V. http://crochetoholic.blogspot.com/ loves being outside

June R. http://agardeningknitter.blogspot.com/ gardening

Iva C. http://scappyhappy.blogspot.com/ similar outlook on life

Swap time!
What are these? Just a little tease.....

I have 2 swaps that I will send out on Tuesday, I'll show pictures as soon as I can.

A picture of the view I will have from the deck of our new house. That is the railing of the deck on the bottom of the picture. A cup of coffee and a comfy chair. Can't get much better. We are very excited and blessed about the move. Not at all excited about the packing involved. : (
Enjoy your day

Well, I went to read a comment left on my blog and guess what, I've been tagged, thanks Nancy http://mspalmtree.blogspot.com/ , I guess for those that this happens to on a regular basis, it's no big thing, but for me it's like being invited to join the club. Well, I'm suppose to tell 7 random things about myself and then tag 7 other bloggers. So here goes:

1. Today I am sick with the stomach flu.

4. We will be moving in a month to Hidden Valley Lake, CA.

5. We will finally be able to get a puppy!!!

6. I would have made a wonderful wife if I could have found the right man.

7. I love being happy and strive for it everyday

Look at the peaches! Yummmmmmy. I'm a true southern girl who just happens to live in California. And lucky that peaches like both locations just like me. I'm thinking peach cobbler, peach ice cream and peaches just right off the tree. Juice running down your arm and dripping off your elbow. Now that's summertime!!!

Anyone interested in learning how to crochet? The Crafty Daisies are going to start lessons next Tuesday. http://craftydaisies.com/ it is a 12 week course, the itinerary is posted on their site. I am looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of crochet. Come by and take a peek and see all that they are offering. There is even a contest!!!

Thought I would share the new knit baby hat that I finished, instructions in Susan B. Andersons book, Itty Bitty Hats. This is the upside down daisy. Very cute.

Peace,

Jane

Garage Sale

I am learning to embroider and am loving it. I basically do the stem stitch, back stitch and french knots. But its amazing what you can do with those stitches, and I am much more a student of the Sublime Stitching http://www.sublimestitching.com/ school of embroidery then the more intricate embroidery that is so gorgeous.

My new project, a set of napkins that I designed of a dandelion clock (you know that fluffy flower that you love to blow on when you were a kid or if your like me you still like to blow them into the wind).

So now on to the info about garage sales. Well, I look forward to spring for many reasons: the trees starting to get their leaves, the new grass, that special color of green that you see only at this time of year, flowers, flowers and more flowers and of course garage sales. My daughter and I get up on Saturday mornings and go crazy checking out all the sales. We love to collect all kinds of goodies. Jenn enjoys getting things for her 2 boys and I am always on the search for yarn, fabric, gently used linens, craft supplies and things for the garden. So I thought I would share what I was lucky enough to find: this embroidery stand that my fluff napkin is on and it was only 5 dollars, too cool. The women that I bought it from had given it to her Mom for a present and her Mom had recently passed away, she was happy that the embroidery stand was going to a home where it would be appreciated again, and it will.

Everyone take care and enjoy all that you have been blessed with,

Jane

Lucky me

Look what I won! I was one of 3 lucky winners for the contest at the Spring Felted Bag Exchange we needed to match questions about the swappers with their names by visiting their blogs. There are 40 of us in this swap. That's a lot of searching. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know each other, its amazing how consumed you can become over a contest, I was definitely on a quest. I guess I'm more competitive then I realize.

Anne and Channon are sweet and thoughtful. Thanks guys. Like I've said before I love swaps!!

Peace,

Jane

Magic 8 Ball

Bet you didn't know that I was a fortune teller LOL. Well, I knew this was going to be fun even before I started cutting the glass for this project.

Also, I thought I would share some pictures of beach glass that we collected from Glass Beach in Point Arena, CA. This beach was used as the city dump for years and then the city reclaimed the area and now the beach shows its appreciation by giving back the glass now with edges softened and polished.

Enjoy.

Swaps....I LOVE them

The Crafty Daisies http://craftydaisies.com/ put on a swap. I was lucky to be partnered with Antelope Baby http://www.antelopebaby.com/. So when I came home Saturday from scavenging at the garage sales I found a package on my front porch. Its funny how you can get so excited about receiving a gift from someone that you don't know. This is my third swap and I really get a kick out of it. While your putting their package together you hope that you are giving them something that will brighten their day. Well Antelope Baby you brightened my day, I'll show you guys what she sent:

Thank you for taking time to put this package together for me and for making all the great gifts. I love my apple pin, cosmetic case, pen case and all the other goodies.

Take care and have good Monday,
Jane

Swap Spoiler

Well today is the shipping date for The Crafty Daisies Summer Swap. So I thought I would share what I was sending to my swap buddy. She loves pinks and browns, robots, she knits and sews. So I thought she might like this, a knitting needle case that I embroidered and sewed and I also made the stitch markers (my first jewelry making project and boy do I have a new respect for jewelry makers). And then I added some goodies: beach glass from Glass Beach in Point Arena, CA, candles, magazine, yarn and lots of little stuff. I love swaps, you should try a swap, its a lot of fun and don't be intimidated. Just give it a try. You might find that you love it.
Enjoy your weekend, Jane
