5. What was your favorite "travel" vacation? Why?

Going to Paris for 9 days. It was wonderful. It was quite unexpected, my sisters boss gave her the trip for her Christmas present and I was lucky and tagged along with her and her husband. We had a great time. We stayed in a sweet little hotel that was hundreds of years old. We ate croissants, fruit and the best coffee for breakfast every morning Then we would go shopping in all the quaint little shops. I have never walked so much, no wonder the French are in such great shape. We visited the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and Notre Dame. We took the train (and flirted a little) and visited the countryside, it was the best. We ate wonderful food, we even went to the movies. I could go on and on but I’ll have mercy on you.

6. Have you ever played tourist in your own home city/state (if international, country)? Explain.

Yes, whenever we have out of town guest we always go see all the sights of
San Francisco: Fishermans Wharf, Cable Cars, Golden Gate Bridge, and shopping downtown….

7. Are you a museum visitor, beach comber or an amusement seeker?

A beach comber, I love the beach and the seafood

Wool for felting and any type of yarn that is soft, beautifully colored and has a wonderful texture
9. What's your least favorite type of yarn?

Itchy, scratchy and ugly yarn

10. What items do you like to knit/crochet?

Felted handbags, shawls, socks and I would love to knit a sweater. Just have to work up the nerve.

11. What do you pack, knit/crochet wise when you go on vacation?

Whatever project I’m working on and then a spare for just in case. I don’t know in case of what but I always have to be prepared.

12. What other crafts do you do/would like to do other than Knit/Crochet?

Sewing, mosaics, embroidery

13. Are you allergic to anything? (Yarn wise or treat wise)

Just mean people

14. What is your favorite color? Least Favorite?

Favorite--Red and yellow
Least--Purple

15. Sweet or Savory (Treat not personality)?

Sweet, love milk chocolate and caramel

16. Anything else we are forgetting to ask that you think your partner desperately needs to know?

Gosh I don’t think so. But you can think of something you can visit my blog and leave a message

Mailman (edited)

Like I've said before I LOVE SWAPS. I have received 2 swaps in 2 days. I love the the mailman, well not really, he's a little to young for me, but I do love what he brings to me -- packages lovely packages -- Do you want to see what he brought? Okay, I'll show you, first my swap from Mooki99 -- Birds, bees and butterflies swap -- she made a wood burned birdhouse, a crystal and beaded butterfly sun catcher and a set of cute bee note cards, she did a really nice job. Thank you Mooki99 for being a great swap buddy.

The second swap was with the Spring Felted Bag Exchange and my partner whoever she is, sent lots of goodies -- 3 skeins of yarn, a Noni pattern, bamboo purse handles, cookies, candy, soap, stickers, pen and lots more goodies. Thank you so much , your are very sweet!

Thanks again.

Peace and happiness

Swap spoiler!!

Well, my daughter and I started cleaning out the garage today preparing for the move, we had a garage sale on Monday, Memorial Day with all the things that we had cleaned out from inside the house. We thought it would be a great day for a sale, but everyone must have had other plans, it was a little slow. So we will try again this Saturday with all the goodies left from the last sale and the new goodies from the garage. I don't think anyone cares about my old craft supplies like I do. Well wish us luck!!

I sent away both of my swaps yesterday so I thought I would share some pictures of what I sent to one of my buddies, I need to make sure my other buddy receives her package before I post pictures. (She comes here to visit and I don't won't to ruin the surprise). The first swap is a Bees. Butterflies and Birdhouse Swap. All items needed to be handmade. First I knitted a blue butterfly wash cloth (I've never tried that before, it was fun knitting from a graph)

I also sent along some bath salts,

then I embroidered a pair of napkins with bees buzzing

and last I made a mini mosaic birdhouse (about 3 inches) on a stick (something everyone
needs, LOL).

Hope Mooki99 enjoys!

Maybe tomorrow I will be able to show the other swap. The first of 2 packages (full of all kinds of goodies) for Lia at the Spring Felted Bag Exchange, the second package is a felted purse and that needs to be shipped by the end of June. Then I have one more swap (embroidered pincushion) and then I done with swaps for awhile.

It was fun to share. Talk to you in a couple of days.

Hello Everybody. I am so glad to be feeling better. Thank you all for wishing me well.

I've got so much to catch up on. I have my swaps that are due and I am moving (did I say moving) and I need to get ready for the holiday shows. I always try to buckle down in June but I have gotten a little carried away with all these swaps, so I am going to have to give swapping a rest until I get my show inventory up.

I was wondering if anyone is going to do a holiday craft shows online and how you would get involved. If anyone knows of something going on please fill me in.

Do you smell lemons?
First I need to answer a question for Spring Felted Bag Exchange:

Easy one:

Go visit some blogs for people who are participating in this swap. Find THREE people that you have something in common with - BESIDES the fact that you knit ;)Make a post linking to those 3 blogs, and tell what it is you have in common with the person on that blog!

Debb V. http://crochetoholic.blogspot.com/ loves being outside

June R. http://agardeningknitter.blogspot.com/ gardening

Iva C. http://scappyhappy.blogspot.com/ similar outlook on life

Swap time!
What are these? Just a little tease.....

I have 2 swaps that I will send out on Tuesday, I'll show pictures as soon as I can.

A picture of the view I will have from the deck of our new house. That is the railing of the deck on the bottom of the picture. A cup of coffee and a comfy chair. Can't get much better. We are very excited and blessed about the move. Not at all excited about the packing involved. : (
Enjoy your day

Lucky me

Look what I won! I was one of 3 lucky winners for the contest at the Spring Felted Bag Exchange we needed to match questions about the swappers with their names by visiting their blogs. There are 40 of us in this swap. That's a lot of searching. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know each other, its amazing how consumed you can become over a contest, I was definitely on a quest. I guess I'm more competitive then I realize.

Anne and Channon are sweet and thoughtful. Thanks guys. Like I've said before I love swaps!!

Peace,

Jane

Swaps....I LOVE them

The Crafty Daisies http://craftydaisies.com/ put on a swap. I was lucky to be partnered with Antelope Baby http://www.antelopebaby.com/. So when I came home Saturday from scavenging at the garage sales I found a package on my front porch. Its funny how you can get so excited about receiving a gift from someone that you don't know. This is my third swap and I really get a kick out of it. While your putting their package together you hope that you are giving them something that will brighten their day. Well Antelope Baby you brightened my day, I'll show you guys what she sent:

Thank you for taking time to put this package together for me and for making all the great gifts. I love my apple pin, cosmetic case, pen case and all the other goodies.

Take care and have good Monday,
Jane

Spring Felted Bag Exchange

1. How long have you been knitting or crocheting? How did you learn?
My Mom taught me when I was 8 years old and I knitted scarves, Barbie clothes and even my nieces christening dress when I was 13. I tool a 35 year break and started up again 2 years ago and have been going strong since.

2. What are your favorite yarns to knit\crochet felted bags with?

Prefer Lambs Pride, Cascade 220 and Patons Wool

3. What are your favorite needles to knit\crochet with?

Bamboo, don't care for metal needles at all.

4. What are the last 3 bags you knitted\crocheted (include URL for Yahoo! or flickr album or your blog if you have them!)? You can also link to patterns if you don't have pictures of your finished objects!

Check my blog for pictures, I design my bags but have used Noni Patterns.

5. Do you carry the bags that you make, give them as gifts, or both?

I sell, carry and gift my handbags.

6. What is your favorite felted bag that you have made for yourself?

A bag that I revamped from someone elses pattern that I found in a magazine, green with pink flowers.

7. What are your favorite colors? Do you like bags in these colors or choose other colors?

I love color, all combos but not too crazy for purple.

Milk!!

9. Coffee, Tea, or Milk?

Coffee!!

10. Do you prefer sweet or salty treats? What kinds?

Brownies, ice cream and chocolate candy

Candle, lemongrass

Sewing, embroidery and mosaics, whimsical home decorations

13. Are there any bag patterns you have not yet knit, but hope to someday?

How about a pudgy pixie puppy?

17. Do you enjoy reading? Books, Magazines, or both?

More magazines then books but enjoy both.

18. Do you have any children? (kid-kind or pet-kind apply!)

19. What are some of your favorite yarns for other projects?

I like yarn that shows stitch definition. Though fuzzy is cute. Maybe now that I think of it I love all yarn

I think it definitely has its place.

Good day

Well it's overcast and threatening to rain and all I can think of is how good a nap would be right about now. So I better get up and fix a pot of strong coffee.

But before I do I wanted to show you the swap project I just finished. We were to make something with buttons to celebrate May. So what do you think? I think it's pretty cute.

I hear that coffeepot calling me, see you tomorrow.

Been busy

I have joined two different swaps. One is a May holiday swap, we are to send something with buttons, something with apples and a ladybug of some sort and last but not least a favorite recipe, no extras allowed with this swap. The other swap is all about summer we are to fill a box from the post office jammed full of goodies (tooooo much fun) this swap is all about the extras and at least one item must be handmade. So now you know why I've been busy.

For the May swap I made an embroidered ladybug pincushion thanks to a wonderful site I found called http://www.medievalbeads.com/, a kitchen towel with an appliqued apple and hand crocheted lace border and the work in progress is a pillow with embroidery and buttons.
Check out the pictures.

So I need to get hopping (Easter is almost here) and start coming up with some ideas for the other swap.

The picture is of a rose from the backyard.

Been fun,
Jane
