Packing

Oh I am so done with packing. I just want to move and be done with all of this. We keep boxing things up and there is still more to do. It's like it is multiplying while we sleep. And then the little boys have always got their hands in to help unpack what we just packed.

So with that said I have not been very productive artistically. I did finish blocking the headband for my daughter and then I made a little present for a blog friend and that's about it. I need to finish my purse for the exchange and then a pincushion for another swap and there is a embroidered pillowcase swap I would love to join but I just can't commit at this time, hopefully they will do another one soon (Is that a run on sentence, I have to remember to breath). Oh yes, there is the virtual vacation swap that I joined but it doesn't require making anything, but I probably will, that's half the fun.

Well, I'm off to pack and hope that everyone has a lovely weekend.

Yesterday

Had a nice day yesterday for my birthday. We drove over to the new house it's about an hour and a half from where we live now. Its not that far away (as the crow flies) its just that you have to cross two ranges of hills (not really mountains, about 1500 ft). Basically we are on the west side of the Napa Valley and we are moving to the east side of the Napa Valley. It's beautiful but will be about 10 degrees hotter in the summer and 10 degrees colder in the winter time. There is even light dustings of snow. I digress, while we were there we went to the lake and had a picnic and the boys went swimming. Not a bad way to spend your birthday.

I haven't been doing many projects, it seems everything right now is about moving. My daughter wanted me to knit her a headband. I just finished it but it still needs to be blocked. Will take a picture when I can.
Thought I would show you some pictures of my lace-cap hydrangea. Pretty huh, one of my favorite flowers.
.
Enjoy your week......

http://virtualvacationswap.blogspot.com/

Here are my answers :

1. If you could visit any state in the US, which would it be and why?

Maine, never been there and have always wanted to go especially the coastal region. And of course the lobster.

Italy, I just think its beautiful and they seem to have a pace of life that includes relaxing and enjoying each day.

3. Have you ever driven across several states/providence/countries?

Oh yes, 30 states and Canada and Mexico.

4. Have you ever visited someplace you consider exotic? Where was it?

Alaska, Cancun, the Glaciers of Canada

5. What was your favorite "travel" vacation? Why?

Going to Paris for 9 days. It was wonderful. It was quite unexpected, my sisters boss gave her the trip for her Christmas present and I was lucky and tagged along with her and her husband. We had a great time. We stayed in a sweet little hotel that was hundreds of years old. We ate croissants, fruit and the best coffee for breakfast every morning Then we would go shopping in all the quaint little shops. I have never walked so much, no wonder the French are in such great shape. We visited the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and Notre Dame. We took the train (and flirted a little) and visited the countryside, it was the best. We ate wonderful food, we even went to the movies. I could go on and on but I’ll have mercy on you.

6. Have you ever played tourist in your own home city/state (if international, country)? Explain.

Yes, whenever we have out of town guest we always go see all the sights of
San Francisco: Fishermans Wharf, Cable Cars, Golden Gate Bridge, and shopping downtown….

7. Are you a museum visitor, beach comber or an amusement seeker?

A beach comber, I love the beach and the seafood

8. What's your favorite type of yarn?

Wool for felting and any type of yarn that is soft, beautifully colored and has a wonderful texture
9. What's your least favorite type of yarn?

Itchy, scratchy and ugly yarn

10. What items do you like to knit/crochet?

Felted handbags, shawls, socks and I would love to knit a sweater. Just have to work up the nerve.

11. What do you pack, knit/crochet wise when you go on vacation?

Whatever project I’m working on and then a spare for just in case. I don’t know in case of what but I always have to be prepared.

12. What other crafts do you do/would like to do other than Knit/Crochet?

Sewing, mosaics, embroidery

13. Are you allergic to anything? (Yarn wise or treat wise)

Just mean people

14. What is your favorite color? Least Favorite?

Favorite--Red and yellow
Least--Purple

15. Sweet or Savory (Treat not personality)?

Sweet, love milk chocolate and caramel

16. Anything else we are forgetting to ask that you think your partner desperately needs to know?

Gosh I don’t think so. But you can think of something you can visit my blog and leave a message

Show and Tell

Thought I would share the things that I sent to my swap buddy for the Spring Felted Bag Exchange. I made a few of the items. The napkins that you have seen earlier in the blog, I felted the blue and black striped change purse with the flower, the embroidered felt ladybug pincushion and I also made the felted knitting needle holder with the three red flowers. I was really happy with how that turned out. It's a nice way to keep you needles together and to keep them from getting scratched.

So tell me what you think...

Take care

Apology

Okay how goofy am I, I didn't get it. I thought I was swapping with Lia and that she was swapping with me and I thought she was confused about who her partner was but it was me the whole time. LOL. I'm so confused so I need to apologize to my swap buddy and I would like to say thank you for all my wonderful things. I must be getting old. So again whoever you are THANK YOU!

A flower just for you ....whoever you are?

Tired

Well, we were up first thing this morning and started setting up for the yard sale. We were very lucky, the weather was perfect. Nice and cool. We had 4 large tables, lots of clothing on tarps and boxes full of goodies for $.50 and $1.00. Lots to choose from.

Having a yard sale is a definite study into human behavior. Sometimes people bewilder me. If you sell an item for a quarter they want to pay fifteen cents and then they hand you thirteen cents and give you a big smile. Whats a girl to do, except to say thanks and to tell them to enjoy their day. The other strange thing is what you think will sell right away (all the cute stuff) doesn't and what you think won't sell (all the ugly stuff), those are the first things to go. Ooohhh, I'm so confused and really tired so I think we will get Chinese for dinner and watch some TV.

Talk to you soon.
